DIRECTIONS TO SILVER HILL MEADOW

From Route 91 Get off at Hartland exit, go North on Rt. 5. Turn left on Route 12 (north). Turn left on the Hartland-Brownsville Road (Skunk Hollow Tavern and church steeple). Travel 1.7 miles to Jenneville Road. Turn right onto this dirt road and stay on it till it "T"s. Go left on Silver Hill Rd. (not towards Smoke Rise Farm). The field is on the left after passing Kings Highway. Please enter only at designated areas as the field may be soft.

From Woodstock Turn off the Green onto Route 106 south. Go to South Woodstock, past the Kedron Valley Stables. Go left off the pavement at the firehouse onto Morgan Hill Rd. There is steep hill, then it levels off. At Morgan Hill Ext, turn left. Drive past Smoke Rise Farm and continue to a "T". Turn right onto Silver Hill Rd. The field is on the left after passing Kings Highway. Please enter only at designated areas as the field may be soft.

Rider information – All riders must be wearing helmets when mounted – AT ALL TIMES. Most of you know why I am so serious about this! Any horse remaining in camp during the ride must have someone available care for it, please! All riders must wear reflective gear for the night portion of the ride. We ride right past the constable's house, so please plan accordingly.

Camping information- Absolutely no early campers! We are putting up the BIG tent on Tuesday and Wednesday. If you need to come early, contact GMHA (802-436-1509) for a list of places where you can stay with your horse. Please remember that this is private property and that we are the guests of Josie Bernachez. She is a great gal and loves it when riders wave and say hello. Riders are responsible for "leaving no trace" in their camping area. Manure may be spread out in the grass.

Parking information - Although this is a very large field, flat areas are going to be very dear. There are no trees for picket lines, sorry. There will be designated FEI parking areas, please see a parking guide before entering camp or look for signs. Large rigs will be put above the tent and the area will be tight and there are wet spots in the middle. Smaller rigs will have the opportunity to find a spot below the tent where there is a lot more room, drier, but not as flat. There must be a traffic lane for emergency equipment, please respect the guidance of the parking guides. There is a ditch running through the field which could be a disaster should you drive your rig into it at night. We will do our best to mark it off, but PLEASE walk in before taking your rig into the field, especially if you arrive at night. There will be horse water but we ask that you arrive with your crew tanks full. If it rains and gets muddy, no guarantees that you will be able to get your truck to the water to fill tanks (yes, we will have a tractor available just in case you do get stuck, but wouldn't you rather not?).
Pre-riding the trail – The trail is not open for pre-riding. However, you may ride the last three miles from camp by turning right out of camp and riding down Silver Hill Rd. Pass King's Highway on your right, go ½ a mile to the next intersection, stay right at Reeves Rd. Another ½ mile down will be a four-way intersection. Turn right onto Best Road, go over the bridge and bear right into the woods, picking up the trail from there.
